Child | Literacy is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and serves the social, educational and psychological needs of children and teenagers who are disadvantaged and /or abused. A high proportion of our projects are in developing countries. Child | Literacy deploys its expertise and resources to undertake, execute and support projects and changes that make an immense difference to the prospects of child welfare in the necessary areas.
Child | Literacy and its affiliates adopt a comprehensive and pragmatic approach to ensure that the lack of resources does not become an obstacle in the path of a child's development. Our members and the members of our affiliates, who are trained to ensure effectiveness in conduct and outcome, identify the children that need intervention. Once such children have been identified, our members work with the children's parents, other organizations and schools in the area to provide the necessary support to these children.
Our members regularly monitor the child's social and academic development. Whenever help is needed, they step in to ensure the child progresses towards the desired objectives. Most of our members are local men and women who are well connected with local agencies.
By focusing on specific needs of children in its areas of operation, Child | Literacy is able to provide an effective solution to the problems of children at the root level. The ability to customize a solution for the situation has helped Child | Literacy carve a niche for itself among social enterprises dedicated to the cause of child welfare.
Child | Literacy is owned and autonomously operated by its Board of Directors.
Child I Literacy undertakes projects in association with its affiliates. Whereas Child I Literacy
is responsible for the concept, vision and overall strategic rationale behind such
projects, its affiliates are entrusted with the task of implementation
and execution of such projects.
